SmartBox Success Is Taking On A Whole New Meaning
It’s fair to say that SmartBox is making success a Snap … or two.
To explain, we’d like to start by introducing Gary Wilson, our Director of Practice Success. Gary and the CSMs will be working with each practice to understand the vision of their success for the next quarter of business and then co-create a plan to accomplish it.
Every one of our doctors will receive their completely individualized SuccessPlan covering their Answer and Appoint metrics. Practices that have Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Open Dental as their practice management software will also receive their SuccessSnap.
With the addition of SuccessSnap, we’ll be able to focus on all 5 “A’s” of your practice. Those are the metrics that will drive your bottom-line growth:
- Answer = PracticeHQ currently tracks and records your answered and unanswered calls.
- Appoint = Our Call Quality Analyst team tags and notates the recorded calls coming into the practice on our tracking lines. The CSM team works with the practice on techniques to appoint more patients.
If you have any of the practice management software mentioned, we add SuccessSnap, which tracks the remaining A’s.
- Attend = SuccessSnap will allow us to see the appointment attendance rate and work with the practice to set goals for improvement.
- Accept = Results are broken out by Hygiene & Restorative.
- Average value per patient/per visit = Again, results are broken out by Hygiene & Restorative.

Summer Specials That Pay Off
There’s Gold In Them Thar Months
The summer months don’t have to leave your bottom line in the doldrums.
Summertime is also social time, with people attending weddings, family and class reunions, and parties. That makes it a great time to run teeth whitening specials for your patients who want to put their best smiles forward.
If you offer clear aligners, consider a summer special for patients who want to begin straightening their teeth. There’s enough time between the summer months and the winter holidays to begin seeing results.
Similarly, kids who need braces will be well served by starting orthodontic treatment before the school year begins. That gives the young folks time to get accustomed to the braces themselves as well as their appearance.
One thing to keep in mind about summer specials is that you should never aim for the lowest price point in your market. These are elective procedures, and the people who want them will pay for them. Discounting your services too heavily gives the impression of being a “cut-rate” dental practice, and that will discourage people with money to spend from choosing you.
